Complexity is not always visible

In an increasingly complex world where systems, users, devices and networks are growing at fast paced rates, the design of a new system or the extending of an already existing one is not an easy task.

On one side, scores of new technologies become available on a monthly basis, loudly promoting their advantages, while on the other side, companies are looking for ways to adapt their business operations to the rapidly changing circumstances for the sake of maintaining competitiveness.

But not every new technology is as good as advertising claims. History shows that many "flashing" new concepts disappear from markets in months and for sure, none of them is applicable in all situations.

New is not necessarily better or worst ... it is merely new.
A more traditional approach may be the answer ... or maybe not.

Fortunately, there are ways to cope with the complexity problem.
